The CHRC Board of Directors is pleased to announce Grégoire Gagnon as its new Executive Director (ED), effective immediately.
Grégoire replaces long time ED, Susan Annis, who is retiring through a short transition period.
In welcoming Gregoire, Board Chair Richard Hornsby extended the thanks of CHRC and the sector to Susan for her many years of service and leadership at CHRC on behalf of arts and culture in this country. More about Susan and her tenure with CHRC in a later release.
Many in the sector will know Grégoire from his leadership over the past year on the Labour Market Information (LMI) Study of the Cultural Workforce. He is currently touching down in every province and in the North as part of a series of LMI communication roll outs, presenting and explaining LMI data analysis and recommendations to sector leaders, artists, cultural workers and employers. He has collaborated with our Provincial and Territorial Advisory Committee (PATAC) partners in particular over the course of the LMI project, and well appreciates their valuable support for CHRC.
Grégoire has also worked closely with the CHRC team over the past year – Lucie D’Aoust, Erma Barnett, Lise Labine, Annalee Adair, Michael Lechasseur and Kenji Toyooka – all very pleased to be working with him in his new role.
Grégoire is a musician/arts administrator/project manager who has worked in the sector at the local grassroots level and on a national scale. He comes with an impressive academic background that includes a Doctorate in music, an MPA and a pending MBA.
CHRC is proud and pleased to have him at the helm of our organization.
