CHRC’s Executive Director is retiring…

The Cultural Human Resources Council is launching a search over the summer to replace its long time ED, Susan Annis, who is leaving the position in September.

See Job Ad for details at CultureWorks.ca

CHRC’s reach is national and cross-sectoral. See CHRC Milestones which outlines its many involvements and achievements over the 25 years that it has served artists, cultural workers and employers. Its small staff and team of contractors are based in Ottawa. They work from home and meet on a regular basis at a cooperative office location in downtown Ottawa.

CHRC’s Board includes representatives from across the sector (Visual Art and Crafts, Music and Sound Recording, Film and Television, Writing and Publishing, Live Performing Arts, Heritage, and Writing and Publishing). The ED works with Board members in their particular areas of interest and expertise to address HR issues that can be sub-sector specific or cross-sectoral. The ED also works closely with provincial and territorial partners and equity-seeking groups, to address training needs, such as The Art of Managing Your Career for self-employed artists.

CHRC is currently leading a broad based Respectful Workplaces in the Arts initiative to address harassment (respectfulartsworkplaces.ca); a Talent to Lead programme of mentorship for mid-career leaders in official language minority, racialized and Indigenous communities; a major Labour Market Information Study of the cultural sector; an internship programme for emerging cultural workers; and a digital media project with immersive technology.

It is an exciting time to be part of CHRC – it is an exciting time to lead it!

The search is on for a new ED….
